Unit 2: Basic Skills

1. Draw an isometric building (cabin, house, or condo) with 3 orthographic views (top, front, and side). Your freehand drawing must be in landscape. You must include a border and information box (drawing title, name, date, and course name). You must scan this drawing and upload it to Google Classroom (Unit 2). [DUE November 15]

2. Create TWO(2) Google Sketchup files. The first one should be a short 5-10 second video (MP4) of a simple cabin. Save this as "cabin.mp4" [DUE December 15]

3. The second Sketchup file should be a video of a fancy round table with two wooden chairs. Save this as "fancy_table_chairs.mp4" [Due January 15]
Upload both these MP4 files to YouTube. Then, copy and paste the video link to Google Classroom (Unit 2).

Sketchup Animation
To make an animation in Sketchup, click Window, Scenes. Then, position your view and click on the + (plus) icon. Re-position your view again and click + again to save another camera position. Repeat this process until your animation is just the way you want it.

Sketchup Video (MP4)
To export a video, click File, Export, Animation, Video. Choose mp4 as the "Export type". Be sure to save all files to your H:\ drive.
